Tray Chaney is an actor from the United States. He starred as Poot Carr in the HBO series The Wire, which turned out to be his most successful acting performance to date. Chaney started his professional entertainment career as a dancer when he was four years old, winning contests at the Apollo Theater in New York City. He had an appearance in the music video “My Baby” by rap artist Bow Wow, which was released in 2003. In 2006, he featured in a commercial for The Wire, a BET promotional shoot. Aside from that, he’s had an appearance on America’s Most Wanted, in which he portrays a fugitive called “Jerry Robinson.” In January 2007, he published a self-published book titled The Truth You Can’t Betray, which was written by him. Chaney grew raised in Forestville, Maryland, and now resides in Clinton, Maryland, with his wife, who is also from Maryland.
