Roberta Flack Biography
Roberta Flack was born in Black Mountain on February 10, 1937. (North Carolina). Irene Council and Laron Flack are her parents. Her mother was a church organist, and her father was a Veteran Administration draftsman. Her childhood was spent in Arlington, Virginia. During her childhood, she was a member of the choir at Lomax African Episcopal Zion Church.
She began playing the piano when she was nine years old. In her adolescence, she received a music scholarship from Howard University. She was only fifteen years old when she was admitted to Howard University as one of the youngest students. She decided to major in voice rather than piano. She received a standing ovation for her performance in AIDA.
