Nick Mcglashan, an American actor who starred in the hit reality series “Deadliest Catch,” tragically died at the age of 33 in December of 2020.
Seventh-generation fisherman McGlashan, a resident of Florida, made 78 appearances as the deck master over seven years on the Discovery Channel reality series.
According to his biography, he was named after his great-uncle Nick McGlashan, who was a crew member of the 1947-built F/V Deep Sea, the first vessel thought to have helped launch the US crab industry.
He was renowned for his “witty remarks, pushing through pain, and finishing the job no matter what.” However, the star’s participation in a portion of Deadliest Catch season 13 was suspended because of drug misuse difficulties.

Nick McGlashan, a star of Discovery Channel’s “Deadliest Catch,” passed away from a heroin overdose according to an autopsy report. On December 27, 2020, McGlashan, 33, was discovered dead in a motel in Nashville, Tennessee, after having a heart attack.
He passed away on December 28 in a Holiday Inn after taking a flight from Reddick, Florida, to Nashville to see friends. The actor was discovered wearing “a gray shirt and gray underwear” at the time of his death.
According to the autopsy report, he passed away after consuming a “toxic mixture of methamphetamine, cocaine, and fentanyl.” Drug paraphernalia was discovered “nearby” McGlashan’s lifeless body when it was discovered in a hotel restroom.

Nick claimed that during the height of his addiction, he was consuming half a gallon of vodka daily and used one gram of meth and two grams of heroin to get high. After overdosing three times, he entered rehab in September 2016.
